Finalmente....

Não são totalmente boas notiçias , mas deixam saber que Pam e Foster estão bem .A mensagem do filho que vive longe fica aqui como mostra de que a America de que tanto gosto é feita de gente como Jared, Foster e Pam .

Hi Ana,

I was able to stay on the phone with
my mom throughout the hurricane. However, that Sunday night
the phone lines finally went down. Since then communication
has been spotty to impossible. I received a phone call from
her cell phone last wednesday, when they had made a trip to
a nearby town. The damage to our area is extensive, to say
the least. The phone company says service will not be
restored until September 17th, and the power says it will be
at least 2 to 3 weeks. I wish my parents would not stay in
that hot, stuffy house (90+ on average, with humidity levels
hovering anywhere from 60-80 percent). However, all our
animals need to be tended and they refuse to leave.

All communication since has been third hand, through an aunt
who still has a phone line, though no power...

Pam and Foster are safe, but incredibly isolated at this
point. Our property is in good shape, but the same cannot
be said of our state. The situation in New Orleans is
untenable, and even our own gulf coast has been victim to
looting and much crime. Fortunately, I've heard the
National Guard has finally pushed to our coast and the
Salvation Army is there to help the victims, easing our own
problems. The same cannot be said of New Orleans. The
evacuation of the SuperDome (The designated shelter) was
stopped when shots were fired at a Guardsman and at a
military helicopter. There are a lot of bad elements in New
Orleans, and unfortunately their behavior is keeping many
good people stranded.
